Playing together since 1981, the Horse Flies have consistently explored the intersection of the traditional and the modern to create a musical world all their own. Part trance-inducing minimalism achieved through a tribal approach to fiddle music and part folk-rock American gothic achieved through artful original songs, the Flies have long been a critic’s favorite and a pigeonholer’s nightmare. Sometimes beautiful, sometimes haunting, sometimes funny, and sometimes bold, their music is always quirky, poetic, rooted, and free.
