With Jack White off playing around the world with the Raconteurs and “sister” Meg hanging out at LA hipster bars, that crucial, super-cool, boy-girl duo void has now found itself filled thanks to deadboy & the Elephantmen. Frontman/guitarist Dax Riggs picked up his dirty vocal soul from a rearing in America’s deep South, and found his love for rock a few later after dropping out of school and forming the cult-favorite metal bands Acid Bath and Agents of Oblivion. Both acts were short-lived, freeing him to work with a revolving cast of players as deadboy & the Elephantmen before paring the outfit down to a duo with drummer Tessie Brunet in 2004. They released their sexy, garage-rocking Fat Possum debut, We Are Night Sky, in February.
