FestivaLink.net presents Graham Parker & The Figgs 103 Degrees In June: Live In Chicago
Originally a very limited-edition CD release, the legendary show at the Double Door lives on in digital release. The show was recorded June 24, 2005 for WXRT’s Sunday Night Concert series.
It was one of those nights when the music takes over, when the crowd and the band feed off one another and no one minds being soaked to the skin. Hot? Hell yes, it was hot. GP and the boys were in top form from their tour and they tore through killer versions of songs covering the length of his legendary career. When it was over, the floor was slick with sweat and beer, and the heat rose in waves and stung your eyes. It was hard to see.
For nearly 30 years, Graham Parker has been slinging a signature sound across continents and airwaves that has rightly earned him a spot in the pantheon of truly original and influential figures in rock and roll. Since his early days with his band The Rumour (with whom he has two albums in Rolling Stone’s “Top 100 Albums of All Time”), Graham has coupled punk’s energy with his deeply rooted love of American R&B, country and soul music. ~Bloodshot Records
