Reviews for The Disco Biscuits: 8/1/2014 9:30 Club, Washington, DC

I attended this show and it was light-years better than anything they had done in years. This show is worth checking out. 711>truckers was one heck of a way to start a show. The munchkin>abraxas segment is no slouch either. Huge Rlh to open set that slowly weaves into a rare inverted spraypaint. The bombs was actually welcomed and well placed even though I didn't recognize the song at the time because it was fairly new and I hadn't heard it before. The inverted abyss was a tad bit rarer back then and it is triumphant! IMO the show loses steam after that.

The shows on 7/31 and 8/2 got a lot more exposure do to the Grateful Dead drummers sitting in, but if you were at this show on 8/1 you got the real deal, and one of the best Biscuit shows I've heard in awhile. Highlights would be set one's "Trucker's Choice" and really the entire rest of the set. Don't be afraid of the second set's 30 minute "Run Like Hell" as it's really about 5 minutes Pink Floyd, and the rest a big old spaced out Biscuit jam. Even a great "Hope". A little low on some of the vocals, but really an almost flawless show with all the members of the band in top form (great Brownstein show) and the sound is excellent.
