It`s a sin to not have this first set. It was my first UM show and I am hooked. If you`re running low on cash, pick up august, THE CROOKED ONE (Such a trip, out of control, unreal, best live song i have ever seen played, my words don`t even do a justice on how amazing the crooked one was), E.T.I was awesome too, I find myself playing that track way more than others in my car, the all in time was also pretty sick. The show changed my life…

this show was sick, except for the crowd. Seriously youngsters, learn how to behave at a show, all your talking and stepping on people was so obnoxious.

Also why isnt Syncopated Strangers broken up with the Chitlins Con Carne in the middle?

This was my second umphrey`s show, and it was totally jammin. I didn`t see the whole thing because we were jumping between them and Keller, but I was there when they played all in time, which was the shit. I wish they would have played nemo or maybe like hangover or something, but its all cool because they`re awesome.

To say that Umphrey`s is not a jam band would be a ridiculous statement. Their first set had 5 songs in it and lasted an hour! As far as jam bands go, I`m not about to go and say they are as good as Phish (whom I love) but they ARE the closest thing I`ve heard since Phish (as far as musical talent goes), and that is saying a lot. Sure they are a little more hard rock heavy than Phish, but so was Phish compared to the Dead. Dead heads will never find anything as good as the Dead, while Phisheads will never find anything as good as Phish......but that preference has a lot to do with what you grow up on. Umphrey`s is a band that I believe will eventually become the next generation`s Phish or Greatful Dead, while bands like Keller Williams and RatDog are throwbacks who appeal to the tastes of previous generations of jammers. Is one better than the other? To some people yes, and some people know. For myself, I just like a good jam, whether it be Jazz, Rock, Bluegrass or Techno, and based on that, I can tell you I would definitely see another UM show.
