Like previously mentioned NYC seems to bring out a nice friendly crowd with mixed ages. Like Nokia always is, the young are in the front and the older people generally tend to stay back near the seats and above the lower standing area. Very happy with the set, I was surprised at some of the songs. Pay The Snucka was awesome and kept me dancing, and 40`s Theme was something I`ve been waiting to hear live. As usual they played long enough and had me going the entire show. I really can`t wait for them to come back to some NYC venue.

New York City always brings out the best in these guys. I say that because I`ve seen almost every show they`ve done at the Nokia, the Central Park show, etc and to their well deserved credit, each show has not only been distinct but also diverse. With Umphreys on stage there is always that creative tension in the air that results in moments of virtuosity that we as fans live for. If you`ve been to an Umphrey`s show, you probably notice that the crowd is a balanced mix of teenagers in the front and adults in the back (at least at the Nokia that has been my experience).

I keep seeing this band for many reason, the main being that I never know what to expect. I do know that they`ll deliver my money`s worth. That`s the problem with a lot of bands these days, too predictable. Dave Matthews Band and many others have succumb to that. They all have the talent but lost that magical edge that you can hear in their early club days of hungry bands. I don`t know if it`s because of the level of fame that they`ve attained or some other reason. The point is, this show has it all: Two really enjoyable covers 1. Zeppelin and 2. Billy Joel. When I was in college in the early 90`s, it was Dave Matthews Band, Phish and Blues Traveler providing the type of live music that we all loved. Umphreys provides now what I loved so much then but they keep if fresh, relevant and most importantly, entertaining.
