Reviews for The Black Crowes: 4/9/2008 Brixton Academy, London, GBR

Turned up 45 mins late for this gig, they started a little earlier than I thought they would!!!. What I saw was fantastic though, Brixton is never the best for sound but the atmosphere more than made up for it. So happy I can order this show on CD so I can enjoy what I missed on the night!.
When's the Brixton show from 17/05/09 going to be available?, they were even better that night!.

This was a truly breathtaking show at a venue which really suits the Crowes sound. I was over the moon to get tickets for their only show in the country, as I missed out on the Shepherds Bush Empire gigs. This was a great set, with a good mix from the Crowes' back catalogue. The tightness of the band's jams, particularly on the Southern Harmony tracks was brilliant.
I have been to many gigs over the last few years, and this was one of the best.
A great night. Please come back to the UK soon!

I was at the Brixton gig. I did enjoy the show, but the sound was not good. Very rarely is when I've seen the Crowes in London. (Apart from Brixton for the Southern Harmony Tour - Best show ever!).

I am glad to hear guitars on the CD that I could not really hear on the night.

Thanks for this CD and download service. It's really good to be able to pick the unique songs and covers out of sets - rather than buying the whole show. FLAC files are great too. If you've got a mac, Roxio Toast Titanium will convert your FLAC files automatically for CD Burning.

Advertised as a One Night Only I was hoping for the whole album, but I decided not to ring my lawyer as the show was truly beautiful, a fantastic mix of old and new material, great musicianship, great people to hang out with, great memories. Crowes must visit Uk again soon, one show will not suffice.

It was an amazing show. Absolutely the best way to spend a birthday. Yes, I turned 38 on this special night. The band looked really happy together on stage.

What a night and what a shame the Crowes only did this one show in England during their current world tour. It was pure magic on the night and I hope it's not the last time we get to see the Crowes who truly are probably the greatest rock act around. Please visit us up in Liverpool next time though as it was a jaunt travellling to London albeit for an amazing show.

I still feel blessed to have been at Brixton that night and hearing this again has brought it all back.
We had no support group just 15 mins short of 3 hours of still one of the most unique bands around.
Fantastic from start to finish.
