I was living in Pocatello,Idaho when I first heard David play on a record my brother had. I was 13. I will never stop listening to the greatest music man, David Bromberg! The Merlefest was the second time. I`m now 43. I have some catching up to do, but the show was awsome! I can`t wait to hear more. Some people followed the Grateful Dead. I`m following you Dave, so don`t stop. You da man! I might stop to pick up some jelly rolls on the way.

1st what a Merlefest year it was!!!!!:)

Bromberg, Hot Tuna, Bob Weir...Geez whatelse could one ask for?

For a gift for my birthday, my girlfriend purchased me this one & both Hot Tuna`s from this site, and one show from hottunatunes.com which has David sitting in from this summer. Fantastic sounds from Fantastic musicians!!! I thought I should atleast express my feelings of joy for the memories being brought back to me in my living room!!!! Ah, yes, the memories!!!! Great ones, from a special place created for the moment ;)

I really like reliving these moments in musical history. I think this year was a rare year. besides all the music the weather seemed to hold up. Seems rain is always in the picture for one or two nights. It was cold the night of Bromberg, very cold, too cold, but the music kept me moving!!! I`ll always remember the big sing along with likes of Gillian Welch David Rawlings, and others. Musical Magic

We SADLY had to miss Merlefest this year, ESPECIALLY sad as we are MAJOR DB fans who of course hadn`t heard him since the mid-80`s in San Francisco. Sunday night we had the use of friend`s house on Greers Ferry Lake - earlier in the day I had downloaded this set and surprised Carolyn with it (and LLove`s). We had a bottle of wine, watched the sunset over the lake, and just smiled and sang along with the "old DB standards" - OH to have been there!!!! Cried (with laughter) over I`ll Take You Back, (with just transcendent raw emotion) over Testify. Anyone NOT experiencing some emotion during Testify better "get thee to the ER!!" C & L in Arkansas

Excellent music partly because I am in a time tunnel. David Bromberg played one night in an old bar in Rochester, NY when I was 17 years old in 1976. Godam great. The place was a rickety old fire trap long since torn down. Can`t remember better singing and dancing. Nice he`s still out there.

Phenomenal! A remarkable performance from David and each of the musicians. (19 performers plus David make this a rather large “Quartet.”) And for a live performance it’s recorded, mixed and mastered with wonderful precision. Even without the previously unavailable Bromberg greats of “I’ll Take You Back” and “Testify About My Love,” this would be a must-own for all fans young and old. I liked it so much I came back for a dozen copies to use as gifts.

I had not heard of the Dave Bromberg quartet before this release, but I will probably be picking up more of the old stuff after hearing this. A fabulous show throughout, but the highlight is definitely "Testify About My Love", a great combination of some bluegrass and blues.

This show is insanely great -- listing to the recording comes close to re-creating the feeling of astonishment everyone got from watching the original performance. It`s one for the ages. Great sound too. I haven`t been able to stop playing it ever since I downloaded the music. Five stars.

I appologize this is not about the current album, I baought it but its not here yet. I am speaking of the rest of Davids art.
Unbelievable cadence, this man has all the style of a dixieland parade while speaking a message of truth to the unwise, and the wise. Who has not been in one of the situatioons David so eliquently reveals in his songs. I love the guy and all he sings about. The band is fantastic always and I cannot get enough of his music. "Can ya please stay alive till I die" I want more albums or sit in albums raw stuff, and more DVD`s So far I have just one 1985 Iowa city DVD and all the rest of his released albums. I know there have to be more, could you please produce more? I love the man and his way of telling stories to uncompromisable melodies. David is a true talent. I wish I could meet the man. I thought from rumor he had a fiddle shop in kankakee illinois. it turns out he is in wilmington ohio. Wow, I hope our paths cross someday before we lose this icon forever. I love ya man!
